Tiva is back! NCIS: Tony & Ziva is officially a go, with two fan-favorite agents making their return to the squad. NCIS: Tony & Ziva is Paramount Plus’ upcoming NCIS spin-off following NCIS Senior Field Agent Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo (played by Michael Weatherly) and NCIS Special Agent Ziva David (played by Cote de Pablo), who both left the series in Season 13.
Paramount Plus ordered the series in February 2024, around the same time CBS also greenlit prequel NCIS: Origins following a younger version of NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs from the mother series. The announcements for the two new NCIS spin-offs also came amid news of NCIS: Hawai’i’s cancellation by CBS after three seasons.
Originally titled NCIS: Europe, Weatherly and de Pablo announced in an Instagram video in May 2024 that the series will be retitled as NCIS: Tony & Ziva so viewers have a better idea of what the spin-off will be about. (Another title Paramount Plus considered was NCIS: Trust No One.) “It makes it really easy because the fans will know exactly what the show is.
