The November 2024 Ventura County, California, wildfire spread rapidly and engulfed thousands of acres of land.

Wildfire season hit a breaking point in Ventura County, California. At the beginning of the month, a fire — known as the “mountain fire” — engulfed thousands of acres of land, destroying homes, businesses and other structures in its path. Residents were forced to evacuate as firefighters tried to contain the flames.

According to the Ventura County Fire Department’s public information officer, the wildfire reached “14,500 acres with o percent containment.”

“The fire remains active through the affected area as ground crews and aviation resources continue working to fight this fire. Evacuation orders remain in place,” the PIO wrote via X on November 7.
